Personality
Loyaltykeeper is; as the name suggests, extremely loyal to those who she deems worthy of her trust- though that is quite a feat as she has more trust issues than she has scales. She will follow anyone she cares about just about anywhere at any time, and will gladly jump into action to defend her friends and family. If you think this tiny thing is harmless, you best think again, because if you hurt her friends or family, she will come after you.
She is also extremely intelligent and will get very angry whenever her intelligence is doubted or she is infantilized. She has admitted to doing calculations in her head automatically, likely due to her training with her father as a hatchling. She also is extremely clingy to those she cares about most, if in a time of crisis or fear she latches onto you- that's how you know for sure she trusts you.
Her personality normally shifts depending on who she's around, whether to keep up appearances, to mask how she really acts, or even just so a dragon doesn't think she's weird. Her autism does sometimes shine through, as sometimes she will mimic what other dragons (and in some cases other animals) do. Such is the case with Riptide where she will mimic his movements and expressions, but this is her way of cementing to other dragons that she is his daughter, and not fully because of her autism.
When masking, Loyaltykeeper is in "adult" mode. She is intelligent either way, but to be "adult" takes a lot out of her. She will talk "royal" when angry or upset and sometimes lets her mind go ahead of her, in the case of not realizing Lanternfish had no idea what all the sciencey words she was using were when she was teaching her about fruit, or when she tries to talk to the majority of the pack of wolves loyal to her.
When not masking, however, she both acts and sounds more like a young dragonet and is mostly scared, and those who know what she truly sounds like know she has a nasally voice- because of her deformed snout plates. She can come out of masking willingly, like when she feels safe and is alone, or she can be forced- normally after a flashback of when she was younger or after being frightened by something unexpected.
Physical appearance
Loyaltykeeper is a Rainwing-Nightwing hybrid with dark midnight blue scales with lighter midnight blue underbelly. Her wings have pastel rainbow dots for stars and are longer than she is tall. Her frills are normally a cyan to pink gradient. Her teardrop scales are normally a rainbow, and her frills and teardrop shape scales can change color depending on her mood. All her lighter midnight blue underbelly is fluffy, as are her ears.
She now wears a faux seawing sail along her neck and back in two parts, stopping in one spot along her neck for either the Seawing relic Riptide gave her to breathe underwater and use Aquatic, her satchel/bag or both at times. She also wears a Qibli earring, given to her by Nettle during the masquerade. She has as of current been given a slightly oversized wing ring that has been enchanted via a book to allow Darkstalker and Fathom (put in her mind by the same gem that made her an animus) to be able to appear as they are to other dragons in times of crisis or in times where they would be helpful.
Her build and scales are mainly that of a Nightwing, but her front snout plate is deformed, and instead of the normal Nightwing shape, it is in fact, a heart. Her horns and tail are that of a Rainwing, and she has the fangs and venom of one as well. Her front-most head spike has a small chip in it, from when she first hatched, has long scars over both eyes with one part making mostly a straight line over her eyes, stopping just before her mouth.
A smaller, more recent part of her over-eye scars was done by Salmonseer as is the scar over her right talon. She has a few scars from a snow leopard attacking her on the part of her left arm and left wing, where the two meet. She files her talons to be like that of a baby flying fox, and are painted consistently her mother's main scale color, in remembrance of her mother.
Powers and abilities
Powers
- Was cursed by a magical gem to become a Animus.
- She does not like the fact that she is cursed, but she was smart enough from the get-go to enchant herself so that she would not be able to accidentally cast spells or use her magic to harm.
- She keeps a journal to write down potential spells she wants to cast and think up any ways that spell might go wrong, so that the spell is perfect before she says it.
- Now owns an earring so she can "turn off" her animus powers and subsequently shut up Darkstalker in her head.
Abilities
- Incredibly smart, knows how to read, write; even in fancy cursive, speak fluently, fight, dodge, forage, carve, smith, blow glass, make ceramics and pottery and ethically source materials to do so.
- Can hang upside down far longer than any other dragon, and even knows how to keep herself from getting lightheaded when doing so.
- Stronger than you might assume- She used to pull full grown wolves up a Sumaumeira tree to her home among the cannopy atop the tree using a pulley system and platform of her own design.
Quotes
Official
"Thank you, Captain Obvious. I realize that! Nothing I can do about it now!" - in response to Darkstalker saying that running away (from a dragon who spotted her) isn't the best thing she could've done.
"Would be hard to kill the daughter of an assassin." - in response to Velvet saying he wanted to see if she was okay during the hybrid killings
"No, I need to make sure they don't get any ideas about telling other dragons about who I really am... Or, you know, getting themselves killed because of me." - in response to Darkstalker exclaiming that she wants to befriend Velvet
"Apologies, my Lord, I'm just a humble painter from the islands. I was only meaning to see the inside, do some paintings of the palace, it is pulchritudinous! The staff here and you must be very proud of how it looks." - To Riptide, using all her smarts and smooth talking she can to weasel her way out of trouble
"Like how otters eat sea urchins to keep them from overgrazing kelp forests?" - in response to Riptide saying that Seawings keep the ecosystem in shape
"How's it work? Project thoughts? Do I have to be like 'Hey necklace let these amazing Seawings know I love it here and that they're all the best!'?" - Asking Riptide how the Seawing relic works.
"Oh no I'm not! I'm not at all perfect the way I am! I have to hide who I am, what I am, and everything about me from everyone! If dragons don't see how pathetically small I am, or how dangerous I am, or who I am, they would be more likely to like me. To not hate me. I need to hide, to make who I am and what I am and how I feel. Knowing that puts dragons in danger. I put dragons in danger. If I'm not myself, they can't be in danger." - To an imaginary friend after they said she's perfect just how she is
"Why should he... Nobody ever believes me... My family sure didn't when I kept trying to tell them that the cave didn't feel right, that it was scary and unnatural- They just said 'oh stop being a worry scales, look at how beautiful it is!' Like that changed anything after they died." - Brooding over Riptide not believing her
"One so angry for being the best tribe out of all of us! All Seawings are superior, they can live where the rest of us cannot, and so I love them for that, they're the best!" - To Salmonseer about his demeanor
"I thought I'd never find it. Thank you. It means more to me than all the animus powers in the world" - To Typhon about him giving her Turtle's bowl
"don't you get it?! My father didn't want me. I WAS A FUCKING WASTE OF SPACE TO HIM AND HE THREW ME OUT LIKE I DIDN'T MATTER!!" - Yelling about how she thought Riptide didn't care about her
"It's not so easy when even the slightest of wrong actions or wrong words can send me into a panic attack, or throw me into a flashback- I fell into a giant cave, coming home from Postman and Cassiope's wedding. Dad doesn't know about that! I could've died! I thought 'surely, me almost breaking my wing would mean he'd come home- at least send a letter to show he cares' but he didn't. Apparently I'm nothing to him." - Venting her frustrations about Riptide not coming home sooner
"Depths below, those ships must be huge! They must be quite a sight! Ha! What I wouldn't give to see them first talon, ships are a true work of art, the first time I came to Pantala I came aboard a Clipper- and by all the stars what a ship it was! I almost forgot to get off, ha!" - To Nettle after he tells her about his ships. (Note: She is not laughing, she is mimicking the noise of laughing to appear more normal.)
"But at the end of the day... I'm always going to be Loyaltykeeper, only hatched daughter to Queen Glory and Deathbringer, Heir to the throne of the Rainwings and Nightwings... Not that that means anything anymore. I have parents with a big legacy to uphold, my parents were amazing dragons, my mother revered for all she did. I worry if I'm ever going to live up to that, or if I'll always be in my mother's shadow... But I'm not mom- I'm me. I have to do my own things. Be my own dragon, and... just hope that makes her proud." - Venting her worries to Vibrant
"May you escape the shadow of my mothers legacy. I likely never will." - To Fasale, trying and failing to wish her a good rule
"I saw the flag first- that dream-me had it on her bag, and it turned out to be a thing called Queer Platonic Relationships Basically, it's a non-romantic and non-sexual partnership with an emotional strength beyond a friendship. It doesn't fit the 'traditional' models of friendships or romance, so it fits perfectly for us and how we feel, I think! It involves a deep mutual trust and emotional closeness and loyalty. According to the book I found it in, queer platonic partners call their partner Zucchinis. It wasn't clear why, but I don't think it's strict- it said that it can change and shift to fit anyone" - To Lotus, about what Queer Platonic Partners are
"Tides, this feels so nice! I've never seen all three moons full before- it's like I'm bundled in all the happiness in the whole world- I could just stay here forever, under the moons- with you" - To Lotus about the feeling of being under all three moons is like (Similar to that of Rainwings having Suntime)
Unofficial
"I... well... I at least was taught a little about how to be queen... and I'm very smart for my age, wise beyond my years, so I've been told. But I don't know, does Lotus know how to be a good queen? If she wanted to be queen, I'd teach her what I know. I am not going to... just try to make a competition of being queen... competition breeds the worst in dragons, and I don't want to be dissapointed if she's better or be egotistical or conceited if I'm better... I'd rather us be equal." - When asked if she thought she or Lotus would be a better queen
"It would depend on what the challenge was. I would hope it's not to the death, but if it was, I would give up before any of us got hurt. If it's not, and Lotus was to want to rule, I would at least make it a show, or act like I'm really trying, make Lotus look good." - When asked what her plan would be if Lotus challenged her for the throne
"While yes, I do value it, and I... may go after the throne as is my birthright, you say it like I am the only dragon who can or should have it. I was hatched a princess, I can't help that any more than Darkstalker could help being hatched an animus or a silkwing being hatched without their wings. I have openly admitted to passing on the crown if my friend Lotus wanted it, or sharing it like as was customary before my mother gained the throne, I do not wish for it myself for selfish reasons any more than I wish to help others like with the magic I was cursed with." - When asked if she valued the title of princess and if she thought she should have it over someone else
"Makeup is.... interesting... maybe I can try it someday I don't think it can hide all my deformities though..." - When asked for her opinions on makeup
"If someone hurt Lotus, it would mean I wasn't there, because I WILL defend my friends and family TO THE DEATH. So, I would rush over and ask if they know who hurt them, rush them to a hospital if need be, make sure they're well taken care of. Threaten the staff of I have to to ensure they give her only the best care available, and then go hunt down whoever hurt her." - When asked what she would do if someone hurt Lotus
"I would try to enlist if I could, even if I had to use the fire opal, and be the best nonlethal asset to the Seawing kingdom. Taking down enemies and taking them into custody. Only killing when absolutely necessary." - When asked what she would do if a war broke out between all the tribes
"I still don't like that term, it... feels very... ick... but the book said it was flexible, so I'll find something far more... personalized to call Lotus... But she's... well she's just the best! I don't worry about anything other than keeping her safe, and she makes me more happy than anything else ever could. I'm at peace when I'm with her, I'm happy just being with her. Doesn't matter if we're talking, or eating, doesn't even matter if we're holding talons or anything. She walks into the room and my day is instantly that much better. I see her write me on the Chatoyans and I can't help but smile. I've never been happier.." - When asked what her opinion on her Zucchini was (Lotus)
Trivia
- Is often referred to OOC as AUkeeper to avoid confusion between the headmate (named Loyaltykeeper) who plays her and the "Alternative Universe" version of Loyaltykeeper that this wiki is about.
- There is more differences between AUkeeper and Loyaltykeeper in lore than in looks because they are the same, just in different circumstances.
- AUkeeper and Loyaltykeeper have met, canonically in both universes; in their dreams, despite their major differences.
- Her "adult" voice claim is Nimona from the Netflix movie of the same name, her "baby" voice claim is Bingo from Bluey, and her older actual adult voice claim is Starlight Glimmer from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
- Every character made by Loyaltykeeper (Of the sandandcompany / Starry sea system) has a voice claim, including the pack of wolves, all four (likely soon to be five) carvings, plus her guards and other misc. characters that show up in her lore.
- She actually has a lot in common with Princess Luna from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
- Both are princesses that have missed thousands of years on their planet, both fear turning evil, both willingly gave themselves nightmares to not forget their mistakes, both have similarly designed crowns, and both speak similarly at times (Loyalty's "Royal" speech is almost precisely the same as Luna's "traditional Canterlot voice").
- The reason Loyaltykeeper has a wolf pack was because her story was supposed to mirror Tarzan's (Adopted into another species as a baby, learn their way of speaking and doing things and having to re-learn how to be their own species.)
- Loyaltykeeper's eye scars are inspired by the scar Kion gets in S3 of The Lion Guard
- Despite her intelligence, there are quite a few things Loyaltykeeper has never heard of or does not understand.
- A few of these things include games (Like hide and seek, tag, chess etc.), dancing, humor, and lots of other things that dragonets would have experienced like pillow forts.
- Her lore is so vast and long that there is half a dozen google docs dedicated to putting together her lore in arcs, and simplifying her lore.
- The arcs are as follows (as of writing this): Post Freezing (also referred to as Pre-Riptide), Post Riptide life, Runaway (which spans over the length of three or four days), and Healing and Acceptance
- There is currently over 30 roleplay threads that Loyaltykeeper is a part of/has taken part in.
