Discord F.A.Q.
While the majority of the questions posed by users were answered on the website, this section will detail relevant information that was solely conveyed on the Discord Server. Paraphrasing and grammar corrections have been used used when necessary for understanding.
- Q. “Why are tribe channels being deleted?”
- A. “They’re being archived and will be view only. They won’t be necessary anymore and keeping them causes a lot of clutter.” [2]
- Q. “Why is this happening in the middle of the gen?” paraphrased
- A. “There is no way we could have this happen at the ‘right’ time because that is going to be different for everyone. We also needed to make this happen soon, and adding new map development on top of everything would be a huge task and not necessary to the point of this update.” [3]
- Q. “May I ask why crops can no longer be sold at Seaviper’s Bazaar?”
- A. “AFK farming isn’t really that fun, but right now if you want to remain competitive you have to build a massive AFK farm. So we are removing any farmable items from being sold at the bazaar.” [4]
- Q. “How will lore builds be done?”
- A. “NEW lore builds will now be done by staff! All current builds being worked on will still be worked on by those working on it.” [5]
- Q. “Will the economy run more on mini games or non-farmable Minecraft items? The FAQ seemed to indicate minigames but I’m not certain.”
- A. “We’ll have more things like the barrels at the bazaar, Bob’s farm, and the Pretarsi Mail Service. We haven’t had a lot of discussion around future stuff, but do share your suggestions!” [6]
- Q. “How will ‘canon lore’ decided by gamemasters work?” paraphrased
- A. “There won’t be any ‘canon lore’ anymore, rather some smaller, limited stories within NPCs that will not affect any story.” [7]
- Q. “If I wanted to build and do lore, would there be an opportunity to do both?”paraphrased
- A. “You can apply for multiple sub-roles.” [8]
- Q. “Would there be any event RPGs added into the game?”
- A. “Yes, we will still have events, but likely no rp events.” [9]
- Q. “What about wars?”paraphrased
- A. “We will probably not be having any wars.” [10]
- Q. “Will we still be able to make in-game events?” paraphrased
- A. “Yes, but they will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.” [11]
- Q. “If I wish to make an in-game build, which is not for an event, would I be able to ask staff to work with me on implementing technical aspects to the build?” paraphrased
- A. “If you are going to be creating a game/event, you will have to run it by the gamemasters.” [12]
- Q. “Will we be able to ask the appropriate staff for our lore to be made canon?” paraphrased
- A. “We won’t have any ‘server canon’ for lore to be part of. You can still do it, but we aren’t going to be involved.” [13]
- Q. “Will there be any intent to change the in-server nicknaming system so that players can handle their nicknames themselves?” paraphrased
- A. “The plan as of now is to let people be able to change their own nicknames.” [14]
- Q. p1 “Will the server be taking a more RPG-like approach going forward?
- Q. p2 “How would the NPCs work without adding anything intensive?” paraphrased
- A. p1 “Yes, we’ll be adding more RPG-like elements similar to the volcano, Festival of Favors, and similar. It probably won’t be to that scale because we don’t want to make it the entirety of the server. If you just want to play survival MC on a WoF world, you shouldn’t have to know anything about the RPG stuff.
- A. p2 “We are going to be adding a plugin that allows us a lot of flexibility in how we approach this. We’re still working things out on the NPCs, but they’ll still have quests and stuff.” [15]
