This article will is intended to help you enable the server resource pack and install a Custom Item Textures mod. This article has an accompanying video tutorial.
Check what is working
- Join the server and go to the hub with the
/hub
command. - Drop down to the lower level and follow the orange path to the Wing Selection. Click the button of any tribe.
- The wings on display should look like dragon wings, with each being a different color.
- If you can see the dragon wings, but not the colors, skip to Using Custom Item Textures.
Enabling the Server Resource Packs
- Disconnect from the server and open the multiplayer menu.
- If the server is not in your server list, add it now.
- Select the server in the list and click the Edit button.
- Click the Server Resource Packs button until it says Enabled.
- Click Done.
The server resource pack will automatically be applied when you connect and removed when you disconnect. It will always remain at the top of the resource pack stack. If either of these is not favorable, you can always download the latest version of the resource pack from GitHub.
Using Custom Item Textures
A Custom Item Textures (CIT) client-side mod is needed to view the colored wing variants. This requires modding the game using a custom mod loader.
Using the official launcher (more difficult)
- Ensure you have Java installed.
- You can check if you have Java installed and which version by opening your terminal and running
java --version
. If it results in an error or the version is lower than 17, install JRE 17 using the following procedure:- If using Windows or macOS:
- If using Linux, search for JRE 17 in your package/software manager.

- If you have Minecraft or the Launcher open, close them.
- Download the Fabric installer from fabricmc.net.
- Open the Fabric installer you just downloaded.
- Set the Minecraft version to 1.20.4.
- Click Install.
- Open the Minecraft Launcher and go to the Installations tab.
- Hover over the new fabric-loader profile and click the folder button.
- In the file manager window, locate the
mods
folder or create it if it does not exist. - Download the latest version of CIT Resewn and Fabric API for 1.20.4.
- Move both CIT Resewn and Fabric API into the
mods
folder.
Using a third-party launcher (less difficult)

- Give it a name and set the version to 1.20.4.
- Under the Mod Loader list, select Fabric.

- With your new instance selected, click Edit.
- Click Mods, then Download mods.
- Search for and select CIT Resewn.
- Click Select mod for download, then Review and confirm, then OK.
- Click Close.
