Bog is a former MudWing king, played by Bog The MudWing. Bog is canonically about 153 years old and reigned as monarch two separate times.

Description

Bog's scales are a deep, bright orange. He stands just slightly larger than an average MudWing, but has comparatively smaller wings for his build. The most distinct thing about Bog is his abnormally bright blue eyes.

Bog's bracelet is made of gold, but unlike his necklace, it isn’t polished and is actually rather rough to the touch. Only upon close inspection are the unfamiliar inscriptions visible wrapping around the bracelet. The only other feature is the smooth, polished emerald on the top. There doesn’t seem to be an obvious bond between the emerald and the gold. Bog is always seen wearing his bracelet, but he does not always appear with the necklace.

Personality

Bog doesn’t get frustrated easily, but when he does, he can be very defensive. He prefers to watch and observe rather than directly interact. Bog is difficult to read and usually comes to decisions on his own rather than discussing them with others. Bog is a caring dragon who always puts others before himself. Despite this sweetness and kind nature, he doesn't let it get the better of him when it comes to judging the actions of others. While he may appear reserved, Bog isn't afraid to strike up a conversation with those around him.

Biography

Bog was born January 27th, 7,979 A.S. as the bigwings of a three-sib group with his sisters Siltstorm and Maple between Catamont's Claw and Morass Square. All three dragons shared bright blue eyes.

Siltstorm was always a bit larger than Bog, which is unusual in MudWing sib groups. This often led to confusion as to who was the bigwings. Siltstorm’s scales were closer to a pale orange, and she was often teased for having the appearance of a SandWing as a dragonet. Siltstorm was rather defensive and fiercely defended herself and her sibs. Siltstorm was killed by an unknown RainWing during the Titan Pact vs. Hurricane war in battle.

Maple, on the other hand, had scales of deep red, which contrasted quite well with her blue eyes. Maple was quiet and had a fascination with reading. Anytime a merchant would pass through Catamont’s Claw, she would take a scroll back home. Maple was killed by a RainWing during the Frostburn War on her way back from a diplomatic meeting in the Sand Kingdom. The RainWing, called Epicuticle, was found by SandWing patrols and imprisoned. Bog would later build a library in dedication to Maple in Catamont's Claw.

Not much is known about Bog’s rise to rulership, but some rumors say Bog’s ascension to King was illegitimate. Still, Bog led the MudWings for a number of years, establishing a close relationship with the Sky Nation early on. Bog also brought the Mud Kingdom through the Titan Pact vs. Hurricane War alongside the SkyWings, IceWings, and NightWings. Bog admired both Queen Sardonyx of the SkyWings and King Polar of the IceWings. It is unknown why Bog forfeited his position after the war, but many suspect it was due to the death of Siltstorm.

Bog took the throne a second time, many years later. As the Frostburn War began to become apparent, Bog stuck with his familiar ally, Fire Lord Vulture of the Sky Nation. Bog did not particularly admire Fire Lord Vulture as he did Fire Lord Sardonyx long ago, but his loyalty would result in a strong alliance. Still, he felt out of place in this new era of royalty. Overlord Providence of the Night Kingdom made Bog rather uncomfortable, and Queen Agave seemed wise but distant. At the climax of the Frostburn War, the Firebound Alliance launched an attack on a small IceWing village called Melanie's Evergreens. Bog fought in a one-on-one battle with Queen Legacy of the RainWings on top of Melanie's Evergreens’ snow arch. Neither dragon ended up fatally wounded in this encounter.

In the years following the war, King Bog retired to live near the ruins of the abandoned Tail's End Village after doubt about the legitimacy of his rulership began to spread within the Mud Kingdom. With most of his previous acquaintances dead, estranged, or caught up in modern Pretarsi’s problems, Bog lives alone near the coast with a human called Hyla as his only companion. Not much is known of her.

Largely forgotten in the current age, Bog’s current status and goals are unknown, though those who still remember assume they are meek, seeing as Bog is rapidly approaching the end of his life.
