Fire Lord Vulture was a prominent SkyWing ruler, having held the throne after King Falcon died from an illness before they were supposed to challenge. He is often depicted with a SkyWing skull on his face like a mask, claiming to wear it to honor his opponent's final fight. He lead the Firebound Alliance during the Frostburn War that ultimately lead to a draw, and was the longtime "rival" of sorts of Ex-Queen Legacy of the RainWings.

Description

Vulture is a tall and muscular SkyWing, leaning on thin side. He has dark red scales with darker red- nearly black- fades on his snout, neck, talons, tail tip, and wings. His underbelly scales are dark brown with a line of gold scales along them. His horns are dark grey on his head and neck, turning into a boney-cream color on his back and tail, his talons also being this color. A similar cream color covers his wing phalanges. His outer wings are the previously mentioned dark-almost-black red, while his inner wings are a more rich dark red.

Vulture has a multitude of scars as listed in approximate order of oldest to newest:

• Claw-scratch scars along the left side of his neck (given to him by Gale)
• Claw-scratch scars on his right arm shoulder and wing shoulder (given to him by an unknown gladiator)
• Torn ear on his right side (given to him by a Diamond-Tipped Trident during the Oakenwatch Ball)
• Frost scar on his right forearm (given to him by Noctua during the Frostburn War Finale)
• Fire burns on his outer forearms (given to him by Yueguang)

Skulls

Vulture is often shown wearing a real dragon skull. Here are a list of his skulls, listed from favorite to least favorite:

Personality

Vulture is foreboding in more ways than one, be it his appearance or fierce behavior. He is stubborn and set in his ways, and once he has made up his mind there is no going back on it for him. He tends to be calmer and less agitated when working on his personal projects, such as Skyfire Academy. Believe it or not, the grumpy king has a soft spot for dragonets, and will do nearly anything to keep them safe with him. He has a knack for finding loopholes in logic, be it for his benefit or demise. This, plus his silver tongue, makes him a terror to debate.

Biography

Life Before Rulership

Vulture has yet to divulge any information about his life before becoming ruler to anyone, though it is speculated that Legacy and Providence knew a rather substantial amount of his history before both vanished for unrelated reasons. What is known is that he started gladiator fighting at the age of 6 years old in the Sky Nation arena, only being defeated twice in his time there. He climbed all the way up to Champion, slaying the previous Champion Sol, a 19 year old Firescales. It's said that he only climbed the royalty ladder hoping for more of a challenge but was "greatly disappointed by their skills" in the arena.

Life as Ruler

Vulture as reigning Fire Lord has done a lot for The Sky Nation, be it for better or worse. He enstated The Laws of The Sky Nation, and established allyship with The Night Empire during Overlord Providence's reign. When The Heart of Ice & Fire was first discovered by SandWing Queen Agave, he rushed to the scene, the IceWing King Noctua following suit. The two argued over ownership of the animus relic, eventually leading to the Frostburn War.

Vulture argued his case to the rest of the tribe rulers, gaining the support of the SandWings and forming the Firebound Alliance, comprised of the SkyWings, MudWings, NightWings, and SandWings. He grew close to Overlord Providence until she vanished without trace after the 1st Full Moon Festival, where he attempted to protect Queen Agave from getting overcrowded after she was "attacked" by purple crystals spiking from the ground.

His surprise attack on an IceWing village during the Frostburn War lost him his popularity after the war, both SandWings and NightWings removing themselves from the Firebound Alliance. He defended his only ally, the MudWings, when the RainWings attempted to invade and push their borders. He was successful in pushing the RainWings back into their own territory.

Vulture became more withdrawn to his palace. Prince Fog of The RainWings and Heir Night of The NightWings were also spending nights and days alongside him in the SkyWing Palace. More recently, Vulture was spotted with Fog and Night at MudWing Princess Dock's tea party, carefully protecting an egg. It is rumored it was his and Providence's from before she vanished.

Scepter of Spinel Spell

Vulture has used the Scepter of Spinel, though the extent of his enchantment is currently unknown. What is known is that some objects were made as a result of his spell.
