Swelter is a stern and bold tribrid who is unafraid to speak his mind around others. He is currently the Apparent Heir of The Kingdom of Sand, a position he worked for after the death of his uncle Bontebok. While new to royalty, Swelter is determined to better the SandWing Kingdom the best he can, starting with the town of Possibility.

Description[edit | edit source]

Swelter is a robust dragon with dark red scales that give way to a more tan brown, a stripe of orange separating the two tones. His underbelly is a light cream, and his sail is light orange that fades to a darker orange. It is also striped intermittently with white. His horns and claws are a dark, dull brown, matching his barbed stinger. His inner wings are a light orange with a light yellow edge. His eyes have black scleras and yellow irises. Two circular bone earrings hang from his left ear.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Swelter is a stern dragon with a strong sense of justice. If he deems a dragon to have done something wrong, he will make sure they “pay the price”. However, he is caring to young dragons, as well as those who he thinks deserve his kindness. He puts others before himself, having led the town of Possibility through the Glasscough Plague. During this, Swelter made sure everyone had food and clean water, as well as ensuring the safety of the town with a quarantine. He is known to speak his mind, especially in situations where the truth needs to be made clear.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Life Before Royalty[edit | edit source]

Swelter's childhood was rough, but not at first. He lived peacefully with his MudWing-SkyWing father Mudpot, his SandWing mother, Coarse, and his two sisters Sear and Scorch in the town of Possibility. After an altercation he has since refused to elaborate on, he was taken in by his uncle on his mother's side, Bontebok, and lived in Scorpion Den with him and his two cousins, Sagebrush and Cholla, and Bontebok's mate, Mulga. Swelter was bullied and looked down on in his time there, being a tribrid in a family of pure SandWings.

After being old enough to go out on his own, Swelter picked up odd jobs in Scorpion Den as a mercenary. He would be hired as a temporary bodyguard or assistant for nobility, or contracted rarely to assassinate another dragon. He would accept these jobs, though only if he deemed the victim was deserving of death. If they weren't, he would kill the dragon attempting to hire him for the job. He didn't like it, though he deemed the punishment fit the crime.

It was when he went to a party hosted by a low noble, and saw Bontebok get murdered, that Swelter decided to make a change in the kingdom and climb the royalty ladder.

Life as Royalty[edit | edit source]

Swelter tries to not let his new positions of power to change his livelihood. He moved out from the home in Scorpion Den he had lived in with Bontebok and his cousins and moved into Possibility, where he still resides. He occasionally utilizes in the Royalty Stones, discouraging arguing and insult throwing in favor of more diplomatic talk.

When Glasscough hit the SandWing Kingdom, Swelter took immediate action and quarantined Possibility. He assisted Heiress Cassiope and Ruler Riptide during the plague, as it had affected SeaWings alongside SandWings. He was noticeably displeased with Cassiope's decisions during the epidemic, and conversed with Riptide as well as Celestial Silentseer about aid towards Possibility, where he met Admiral Nettle, Archduke Talentmaker, and Duchess Slush.
