Thanks for your interest in contributing to the Wings of Fire: The New World Wiki! There are a few things to keep in mind:

  1. You must accept the license. All content published to this wiki is licensed under CC BY 4.0 Deed as specified in the license. All content published here may be used in accordance with the license.
  2. Anyone can edit this wiki. When modifying or creating any page, you accept that the content is not protected and may be modified by other users at any time.
  3. Please consider creating an account. Creating an account is not necessary, but it allows us to credit your contributions and prevent spam and abuse.
  4. Uphold the quality of information. We want our wiki pages to be complete, easy to read, and grammatically sound. Ensure the content you provide:
    • Is accurate. Check to ensure the information you write is accurate. If you're not sure about something, ask a friend or staff member.
    • Is properly proofread. Apply proper English grammar rules to best of your ability. There are lots of browser extensions available that can aid you with this, or you can ask a friend to look over it.
    • Is relevant. Do not create a page unless it makes sense. The goal of the wiki is to store, archive, and catalog the WOFTNW project as a whole. It should scarcely contain content that is not relevant to the project as a whole. For example, Jade Mountain Academy would be a very relevant page because it is a registered location on the Minecraft server. A page dedicated to an individual character is far less likely to be relevant. If you're not sure, ask a staff member.
    • Follows the rules. The rules listed on the Discord server apply here as well. This includes (but is not limited to): no hate speech, no NSFW content, keep content in English, no illegal content, no publishing personal information.
    • Is accessible. Like the Minecraft server, this site is not limited to users 13 and older. Be considerate to young users; no inappropriate content of any kind. Words like “damn” and “hell” are allowed in moderation so long as they are not directed at others.
    • Is complete. Don't create a section with one incomplete sentence. If you want to add a section to have content added later, add a message box by pasting in {{IncompleteSection}}.
  5. Keep a consistent style. When writing content, please remember the following:
    • When possible, add links to your page content. You don't have to link every occurrence of the word "SeaWing", for example. The first appearance should always link to the existing page.
    • When referencing a tribe, capitalize the W in Wing. MudWing, not Mudwing.
    • Use formatting only when necessary. Keep headings short and use bold and italic sparingly.
    • When creating a list like this one, stick to either using ending punctuation or omitting it. Generally, short words or phrases don't need punctuation while longer phrases or sentences should have ending punctuation.
    • Use the IncompletePage and IncompleteSection templates as needed by appending {{IncompletePage}} or {{IncompleteSection}} into the content body.
